Called to Order/Pledge: Camille Hendricks, President
Financial Business: Given by: Camille Hendricks
and approved by the general membership on July 20, 2007 we knew at that time that at the end of
this year we would be dividing our membership between Oakcrest and one or more schools. In preparation for that event we added language to the budget to state the following:
"The actual remaining balance to be carried forward as of June 30, 2008 will be divided between Oakcrest Elementary PTA and the New School PTA (currently known at West Jordan #4). The money will be divided based on the percentage of students remaining at Oakcrest elementary and the number of students moving to the new elementary school." (We estimated that balance carry over to be $10,073.61)
In order for the new school (now known as Falcon Ridge) to begin accessing that money for start up costs we have elected to create a new budget category within the Oakcrest budget. That category will be called Falcon Ridge PTA and will include as subcategories Falcon Ridge Start Up Expenditures and Falcon Ridge Membership Dues. If approved by the general membership, the monies transferred into these budget categories will require the signatures of the Oakcrest PTA President for 2008/2009 and the Oakcrest Treasurer for 2008/2009 as well as the signatures of the Falcon Ridge PTA President 2008/2009 and the Falcon Ridge Treasurer 2008/2009 before they can be used. These items and amounts will be included in the monthly budget report given at the PTA Board meetings and available for any PTA member to see. The monies transferred into this account will be subtracted from the amount that will be disbursed to Falcon Ridge Elementary at the end of the year according the manner outlined in the previous budget language.
Camille motioned that we create a new category in the Oakcrest PTA budget to be called Falcon Ridge PTA. Sandy Greenwood seconded that motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Camille motioned that we move $1,000 from the opening balance in the general Oakcrest PTA budget to the Falcon Ridge PTA subcategory budget with the understanding that this same amount will be subtracted from the anticipated carry over going to Falcon Ridge Elementary at the end of this school year. Julie Baird seconded that motion. The motion passed unanimously.

Election of Oakcrest Executive Board: Conducted by: Camille Hendricks
Camille indicated that the secretary reported that there had been no letter of intent to be nominated received by anyone else wishing to be considered for the PTA executive Board offices. Since there is only one person being nominated for each office our bylaws state that we may hold this election by voice vote and dispense with ballots.
