PUBLISHED ON 06/02/2008 “Whoa…now this is unity in the community!” said PTA President Elect Aaron Larson as he made his way through the spectacular crowds during the school carnival. This year’s school carnival was a HUGE success and a great way to bring our communities together, he commented. The spring carnival was planned early on in the year as a PTA event to encourage community involvement. Parents appreciated the increased communication of the carnival from flyers, newsletters, and a new approach of using the school’s advanced voice message calling technology...where all student households received automated phone message invites to the carnival. There was fun for everyone at the event that featured good eats and treats. Carnival enthusiasts tested their skill and luck at the Midway Games. There were so many people…that lines stretched out at a few of the rides and attractions…but people we’re happy as they visited with friends and neighbors during the wait. Oakcrest PTA wishes to thank Fun Services of Utah and Animaland for the great partnership created to put on this event…which presented the PTA with over $1000 in donations. Most of all…we thank our awesome community supporters of parents, teachers, and students who made it all come together!! |
